Helpers for Talitha Koum Afterschool Program

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/week

We are in HIGH need of volunteers who can assist in our after-school program for the 2026-2027 school year. Volunteer opportunities within this program include homework helper, playground assistant, and snack helper.

Maintenance and Cleaning Help

Time Commitment: 1 hour/week

Location: Friendship House

We are in need of individuals and small groups with a desire to help us maintain our property with deep cleaning and minor repairs. This would be a HUGE blessing as the amount of people we serve causes our buildings to experience a ton of wear and tear.

Ally for Faith & Finances

Time Commitment: one evening/week (Mondays)

Location: Roanoke Church of Christ, 2606 Brandon Ave. SW

This fall we are holding another semester of Faith & Finances and are looking for men and women who can serve as allies for our students. An ally walks alongside a student and serves as their advocate, encourager, and mentor throughout the class.

ESL Volunteer

Time Commitment: Wednesdays or Fridays, 9:30am-11:30am

Location: Grace Church (2731 Edgewood)

Friendship House has the distinction of being the only ESL program in the area that assists with both childcare and transportation. In order to make this possible, we rely heavily on our volunteer network.

We are looking for men AND women who are willing to teach, assist in a classroom, pick up a family or hold babies while moms and dads from around the world participate in our ESL classes.

Delivery Driver

Time Commitment: <1 hour on Wednesday evenings

Location: a local restaurant

We are in IMMEDIATE need of 1-2 volunteers who can pick up baked goods from a local restaurant on Wednesday evenings and then deliver them to our office Thursday mornings.

TKP Snack Provider

Time Commitment: Flexible

Location: 635 Elm Ave. SW

With the school year in session, our children’s program is in full operation. We try to give our kiddos a healthy snack or light meal each day, and it ends up being a lot of food over the course of a year!

If you, your small group, or your business are able to provide snacks from the list to the right, that would be most helpful!
