Drivers for Talitha Koum Afterschool Program

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/week

Location: Local Schools

We are in HIGH need of volunteers who can pick up kids in our after-school program from school and then drop them off at Friendship House. Schools dismiss at 2:00 and 2:45.

Maintenance and Cleaning Help

Time Commitment: 1 hour/week

Location: Friendship House

We are in need of individuals and small groups with a desire to help us maintain our property with deep cleaning and minor repairs. This would be a HUGE blessing as the amount of people we serve causes our buildings to experience a ton of wear and tear.

Homework Helper/Reading Buddy

Time Commitment: one afternoon/week (Tuesdays or Thursdays), 2:30-4:30pm

Location: Friendship House

Each afternoon we welcome 20 children from around the world and around our neighborhood for the programming of the Talitha Koum Program. Most of our children are learning English as a second language or are needing extra help with homework and reading.

We try to pair each child up with a buddy to help them with their homework or practice reading.

Playground Buddy

Time Commitment: Fridays, 2:30-4:30pm

Location: Friendship House

On Fridays we celebrate the end of a great week of school by spending the afternoon at a local park. We could use helpers to play with the kids by pushing them on the swing, monitoring playground activities, playing kickball, etc.

Drivers for English Club

Time Commitment: 1-2 hours/week

Location: Various locations

We have the distinction of being the only ESL class around that offers both childcare and transportation! Because of that, we are in need of volunteers who can either drive a Friendship House vehicle or their own car to pick up a family for our class.
